Submission Guidelines
What we accept, how submissions are reviewed and what happens after you submit.

We welcome news, announcements, events and story ideas from residents, businesses and organizations across Mercer and Hunterdon Counties. Use the submission form.
What we accept
- Local news and community stories
- Business announcements — openings, expansions, milestones, new hires, awards
- Public events in Mercer or Hunterdon County
- Press releases from local organizations
- Suggestions for Business Spotlights
- Volunteer calls and nonprofit news
What we don't accept
- Content that is primarily advertising (see Advertising & Sponsorship)
- Political campaign material or endorsements
- Anything defamatory, discriminatory, harassing or unlawful
- Content copied from others without permission
- Events that are private, or not located in or relevant to the two counties
Review and editing
Every submission is reviewed by a person. We may verify facts, contact you with questions, and edit for accuracy, clarity, length and style. We may decline any submission, and publication is not guaranteed. We cannot always reply individually.
How submissions are labelled
Published submissions are labelled Community Submission or Press Release so readers know the source. Your email address and phone number are never published.
Images
Only send images you own or have permission to share. Include the photographer's name for credit. Landscape images at least 1600 pixels wide work best. By submitting an image you grant us permission to publish it with your submission.
Timing
Send event listings at least [two weeks] in advance. Time-sensitive news should be sent as early as possible.
Rights
By submitting, you grant [SITE NAME] a non-exclusive license to edit, publish and share your submission as described in the Terms of Use. You keep ownership of your work.
